Check this! Japanese are never short of ideas. KDDI, second largest mobile phone operator in Japan has launched phones which contain credit card software developed by JCB.
Users are required to swipe their phones over a reader and pay their bills electronically. The company is trying to imitate NTT DoCoMo which has developed a mobile credit card platform with Sumitomo Mitsui Card. In the month of autumn the company plans to launch models with JCB’s payment settlement software. It was last year that the company had forged an alliance with JCB and other firms for offering credit card payment services for mobile phones but the users had to themselves download the software onto their phones.
