Recent surveys show that retiring is getting difficult day by day. As per a poll by reverse mortgage lender financial freedom it has been found that 31 % of the senior citizens surveyed were still carrying a mortgage data while more than half of those still had another 10 years before their home loans were paid off. The respondents of the survey were in the age group of 62 to 75 years of age. It is believed that this section will be representative of the population of Georgia.
It has been seen that the average counseling age has risen from 40 years to 44. This change has taken place over the last 5 years. This change looks small but what has to be seen that over the previous one decade there was no change in the average. It is believed that at this stage in life the home loan should have been paid off till now.
