This is an increase of 105 billion pounds over the past 1 year, an increase of 10.5 %. The total secured lending on homes exceeded 1 trillion pounds. For the month of July this figure stood at 1025.4 bn pounds. Over the past 1 year there has been an increase of 11.2 %.
The total consumer credit lending to individuals was 211.9 billion pounds in July 2006. Over the past 1 year there has been an increase of 7.2 %. There was an increase of 10.9 billion pounds in terms of total lending whereas consumer credit witnessed a growth of 1.1 billion pounds. The average household debt in the UK is 8577 pounds, this figure does not include mortgage. If mortgage is included the figure goes up to 50091 pounds.
