rabobank
A new climate credit card has been introduced by Rabobank which would be contributing funds to environmentally friendly projects each time the card is used for paying energy hungry goods and services.

The card would be taking into consideration purchases such as air travel, consumer goods and petrol and would be paying a proportionate sum into projects which are being run by WWF or World Wide Fund For Nature.

Under this the contributions depends upon the impact of purchases on greenhouse gases therefore purchase of petrol would result in a higher contribution for environmental friendly projects as compared to paying for products at a supermarket.

Johan van de Gronden, Head, WWF, Netherlands stated:

The charity wanted to come up with a way to align consumer behaviors with a compensation mechanism.
