As per a study of usage rates and trends, seventy six percent of undergraduate students started their 2004-05 school year with credit cards. Although possessing a credit card seems to have become a trend but a credit card often becomes a pain for the students. Students should have a lower limit on their credit cards as this would curb them from overspending and keep their debt low.

It would be good if students maintained a good credit history at the start as it would help them in their future lives. It would help them if they made payments on time and didn’t use a bunch of cards. I think that students having difficulties with their credit cards usage should seek credit counseling in order to establish a budget otherwise the situation might get out of hand.

Students should try and be careful with their credit card usage as they have limited income and reckless usage of credit cards during the early years might have an impact on their future credit report.
